By the way team means two individuals for the whole country. Nowt, however I have never asked for help from them. Not sure if the not underlined bit is true but I don't beleive the 'welfare team' would be able to do much more than point you to 'other places that might be able to help'.

They just tell you, that you are entitled to benefits and point you to the waterways chaplaincy.

To pretend that they have a welfare team to actually sort out problems with actual solutions is false.

Anyway “more than 100 people” is pretty pathetic. That means the other 67 million don’t give a shit. And the 100 probably spent more £ travelling from Wiltshire to Birmingham, than the modest increase to bring them in nearly line with payments to CRT by boaters with home mooring will cost them. Never mind, they had a grand day out in Birmingham which made a change from the plague ridden desolate swamps of Wiltshire.

Next year's licence for our 55 ft narrow boat comes in at £1215.07, reduced to £1154.32 if we pay promptly.
Of course it is worthwhile to pay early for the discount, and fortunately we can afford to do that.
Our first licence back in 2004 was around £480 I believe.
No such thing as a free meal I suppose.

Rog If prices were kept to CPI (the govs prefered inflation rate) next years licence would cost you about £835.

100 complainers willing to voice their opinion out of 7379 registered continuous cruisers tells me there isn’t that much opposition to the additional surcharge! 🤷🏽♂️

No such thing as a free meal I suppose. Rog Who’s asking for a free meal. The only thing I’ve seen people asking, is that any increases are applied uniformly.
