"It is clear that such revenue is unearned income as the landlord does no work to obtain it. He receives rent simply because he is the monopoly owner of the land and grants his permission for someone else to use it. Marx concludes that the payment the landlord receives cannot come from anywhere else but out of the product of unpaid labour, namely surplus-value. Of course, where else would these parasites get their share if not off the backs of the working class?" www.marxist.com/parasitical-landlordism-and-the-marxist-theory-of-rent.htmYes, but Jim is a caring landlord. This very obviously overrides the high level principles on which all beliefs are based.

I wasn't aware you had to support Marxism to be a Labour supporter.

I wasn't aware you had to support Marxism to be a Labour supporter. You don't. However, socialism, a belief which the Labour party purports to subscribe to has its roots in, and is closely aligned to, Marxism.

However, there is a great deal of difference between Marxism and socialism. Probably greater differences than UK Labour and UK Conservatives.

A far greater gulf can be seen between socialism and current Labour policy. The very little that they've revealed, that is. They can't really be blamed though, considering the sound thrashing they got last time out, when their policy actually reflected their values.

Aren’t all these ism’s what’s fucking the world up. It's difficult. You could try to ignore all organised beliefs but then you could be bracketed as supporting humanism. And then, if you just wanted to live, free as a bird, not shackled by state or deity you could be branded with libertarianism.

It's society that insists on labels, not I. And folk, they often like to feel that they belong.

It seems like it’s you who likes labeling people. So you can judge them and make yourself feel superior. Blaming society for your own personality traits is just pathetic, take some responsibility for what you post.

The thing about Ricky is that he just likes to pontificate to anybody who'll give him the time of day. He preferred the other side because he got more input, at least until they told him to do one. So he came back to where you can't get banned for anything instead. It's a dog's life but what's an arch-egoist to do?

It's human nature, I guess. Labelling that is.
