Intelligence, unlike wine, does not improve with age. Quite the reverse, actually.
Surely you must feel the night closing in...π’

Given that the vacuous arsewipes who've dragged Thunderboat down to where it is now, kris, jim and Shit-for-Brains Coventon being prime examples, are far too stupid to make informed, factual comments on yet one more instance of C&RT's corrupt dishonest senior management and its crooked dishonest lawyers putting their well rehearsed boat theiving scam into practice against one more carefully selected victim, . . far better that they, kris, jim, Shit-for-Brains Coventon, and anyone else of the same persuasion, keep their mouths shut altogether, . . and their ill-considered, unhelpful, uninformed opinions to themselves.
How many times do the following words need repeating before the simple truth of them finally dawns on the gullible and the terminally stupid ?
The Canal & River Trust DOES NOT have ANY powers, statutory or otherwise, to seize, confiscate, or otherwise deprive people of their boats, their homes, or their possessions and property. Nor does the Canal & River Trust have the authority or powers, under any enactment, to 'evict' anyone from their boat or home, or evict or ban anyone or anyone's boat from any inland waterway under its control.

Anyway. I'm going to fit high powered rear facing LED lamps on the Boat for daytime use on the tideway. Its not all that large and visibility is important. I dislike these lamps at night but during the day I think they will help. Might even consider a proper light bar. Not sure if one is allowed a flasher. They seem to be reserved for craft operating at high speed like the clippers and the inflatables. I will likely only be operating between LH and Teddington so AIS sender probably not needed. I did get one and rather mischievously had the Boat size put in as 60m x 20m but this might be a little bit rude. It's an interesting one, my guess is that you won't get told off for displaying a beacon in daylight, but some will look at you in a funny way. I wouldn't worry about being seen. They'll see you coming. People always see me coming. What I would dislike would be a collision from abaft. I have a rescue strobe which might be good for visibility. I don't know if it is a signal for someone in the water though. For the AIS I imagine VTS might call and ask why I am masquerading as a superyacht. It may even be illegal although I have noticed people on small sailing Boats sometimes do it presumably to increase their visibility generally.

And tell us when you're underway so we can track you. What fun.

There was a bloke on a narrow boat cycle repair shop that we used to see around Napton to Hillmorton several years ago.
I think the boat was called Brass Farthing.
I understand he also operated a cycle shop too but sold the boat about ten or so years ago.

Also, stock up on loo roll and clean underpants. No its fine I never panic about anything. If you were ever in an aircraft crash and there was one other survivor you would want it to be me. This is why I can't have guests aboard because they might panic and people don't like being subdued and secured with cable ties.

Yes. No doubt about it.
i have been on a small Boat at sea. To be honest I found it very boring. I wasn't remotely concerned for safety but there was nothing happening and it seemed a bit pointless.

I would hazard a guess that the Mudway is a little bit like the Thames but nowhere near as good.
