He did have a huge ego. But he did also “get Brexit done” or was certainly better at it than his predecessor. His government was also the first to put a “levelling up” agenda into their manifesto. So he was not all bad, but I would agree that his character was pretty horrendous. Just like Mr Trump really. I'm not aware of a single example of Trump u turning on a subject. Unlike Johnson. Brexit being the best example of this. It’s funny how the whole “U turn” thing is demonised by the media. In most walks of life there aren’t absolute right answers and wrong answers, and politics is certainly one of those areas. So you form an opinion based, usually on what other people are telling you with a smattering of personal experience. It is your “best guess” of the moment. But subsequently, the situation can change and/or your opinion can be influenced by different people. Under those circumstances the correct thing to do is change your opinion and follow a different path. Commonly know as “doing a U turn”. Obviously it would have been better to follow that path in the first place, but sometimes circumstances change etc. What would be much worse would be to steadfastly follow the original path in the face of clear new information that shows that path to be wrong, in order to save face and avoid the “U-turn” insult being flung at you.

There'll certainly be enough empty tory seats to choose from, there's a wave, nay, a tsunami, of tory mps resigning, not standing again.

Now thar Theresa May has decided not to stand again, Maidenhead would be the ideal constituency for Boris.

Now thar Theresa May has decided not to stand again, Maidenhead would be the ideal constituency for Boris. Bound to be taken by a Tory prick.
