Probably...but the explanation seems reasonably reasoned.

Probably...but the explanation seems reasonably reasoned. It’s been like that for years, which is why it’s had limited opening hours for the last few years. Plus they lowered the level of the whole east side of the L&L by 8 inches about 8-9 years ago. It makes me wonder if they are getting ready to close the L&L run down the usage year on year for a few years. Then use the excuse of low usage to close it.

Can't see the L&L being the first canal to close for good.

Did I say the first? The last few years it’s spent longer closed than open. With the swing bridge at keadby closed until after the 22nd of may. It’s not really practical for people wanting to go that route north.

It’s not really practical for people wanting to go that route north. Your capacity for spouting endless garbage knows no bounds. There is no 'swingbridge' closure on Keadby Cut, . . it's the mess that's been made of the renewal of the sliding rail bridge that's keeping the navigation closed.
As for the daft remark about - " . . not really practical for people wanting to go that route north.", . . just what, exactly, has the closure of River Lock in Leeds got to do with getting onto the other broad Northern canals, . . Aire & Calder, South Yorkshire, Calder & Hebble, Selby Cut and Wakefield Cut, . . via and from the Trent ? Idiot !

Well, that's the leading exspurt on the trent banned before he's even signed up Site rules: We're all in this together to create a welcoming environment. Let's treat everyone with respect. Healthy debates are natural, but kindness is required. Give more to this group than you take. Self-promotion, spam and irrelevant links aren't allowed. Make sure that everyone feels safe. Bullying of any kind isn't allowed, and degrading comments about things such as race, religion, culture, sexual orientation, gender or identity will not be tolerated. No doubt it's run by a bunch of Know nowts and boats are sinking all the time but it's being hushed up.
