Never ever ever compare Leonard Cohen to U2. Best (polite) description of U2 I have heard is "mediocre crap". There are more accurate descriptions including just removing the word mediocre. I also think Bob Dylan is quite a good artist. Bono and U2 I wouldn't piss on them if they were on fire ! Yes OK so successful artists with $$$$$$$ are always going to be up themselves somewhat but some of then are actually talented. Anyway everyone has different tastes inn it Everything up to the Joshua tree was awesome. Listen to Boy, War and Under a Blood Red Sky and tell me you can't be impressed - I won't believe you! Achtung Baby and Zooropa spelled a change of direction then after those too Albums Bono disappeared up his own fundamental. Every time I click my fingers a child dies - stop clicking your fucking fingers Bono!

I hate U2. (Not a personal attack ! ) Honestly, when they were fresh out of Gateway they were shit hot, raw, talented with a wicked sense of right and wrong. The song writing is a product of it's time but the end result is awesome - 30+ years on. Not the Album version but.... Along with the likes of this.

About as inspiring as Bob of the Dhillon (sp?) and Cat of the Stevens (sp?) ...Dour dour dour. Hey, bit like Coldpay too..... imho music to drink a bottle of Scotch to as you swallow a handful of pills. Musicians that love to think they know a lot about politics and how the world works....But they still have millions in the bank....Dont even get me started on that arsehole chap Bono. Sorry just re ordered a high horse from the stables RIP Leonard Cohen I appreciate his music is an acquired taste, as are most singer/song writers. I enjoyed some of his. But credit where credit is due...how many other artists have credit for writing a song that is covered by numerous other singers, and at the same time held both the number 1 & 2 spots in the British charts. Along with the plentiful awards he received though out his professional life, & the fact he had to continue to work into his 80's to replenish his retirement fund that had been stolen (by a close friend)I would suggest he & his children are due a wee bit of respect on the announcement of his death. Regardless of his political & religious views. Be careful climbing up on said high horse...you never know when karma will 'kick' in
