Yes. I got suspended for a week for suggesting that describing the Israeli war action as 'genocide' was hyperbolic and antisemetic. This was against the rules I was told, 'uncivil posting'. While I was suspended I raised various reports on posts which were far more uncivil than that. None of the posters in question were suspended. I queried this, questioned the consistency of moderation. Next time I went on: banned. Thats odd. I did some far more anti Israel posts than that. Maybe I am special. In one of my posts I even pointed out that the Israel admin is a Nazi organisation and they love Hitler. Maybe it was removed without me being told. They love anti-Israel posts. If you mention 'genocide' with every reference to Israel you'll make yourself more or less unbanable.

It's a bit complicated. The progressives/ lefties would naturally side with the Israelis, them having suffered many acts of butchery over the past hundred years and more. Unfortunately though Israelis/ Jews mostly have white skins and tend to be successful in life. So, lefties/ progressives side with those with brown skins instead, considering them naturally born victims. The lefties/ progressives ignore the fact that many of these people are staunchly religious (something lefties/ progressives despise, and mock at any opportunity) and that their religious beliefs directly oppose many of the beliefs of the progressives/lefties. Throw a homosexual off a tall building anyone?
Hope that's clear so far.
Saint Keir knows all the above and, being a progressive/ leftie himself, tends to agree. However, he wants to be elected. He knows that people won't vote for progressive/ leftie ideas so instead, he pretends to be the opposite. He starts by throwing the people who consider brown faced terrorists to be their friends out of the party. He appoints George Osborne in drag to be the shadow chancellor.
I suppose the question is: when he's elected, will he have forgotten who he really is?

Could have been Pensarn, Llanbedr, Dyffryn Ardydwy maybe?
I like it here in many ways. The mountains behind prevent the town from growing. For the first time in my life I feel that a crime againt me is vanishingly unlikely. And then there's the sea of course.
The sweet smell of 'herb' is common around here. There's a bench near me that's a popular spot. Unlike many places though, it isn't twinned with anti social behaviour.

To be fair the council in Gwynedd, where I live, has more exemptions than the rest of Wales combined. Tends to still be 30 away from the centres of towns and villages, and away from schools etc. Not that it really matters as there are no speed cameras and I've yet to see a police presence in the 3 years I've been here.

Wales is good ta. No enforcement around here so the brain dead universal 20mph limit only applies if stuck behind someone. Common sense rules, otherwise.

He's great is Saint Keir. Believes in what you believe in, provided that you promise to vote for him.

Was a bit tough losing both my Mum and Dad in 8 months. Dad was 89 and went with cancer. It wasn't too drawn out, thankfully. Mum had had issues for years but she was tough, thought she'd battle on well into her nineties, just like her Mum. She went into hospital last boxing day with another chest infection. Passed 7 days later. It's weird going from having both parents to none, in such a short space of time. Otherwise: finally sorted all the issues with the house, mostly myself. Still kayaking whenever I can but sea conditions dictate it's not as much as when I was on the canal. Got myself a proper sea going one now, drysuit, vhf radio, the full works. A close call with death when I misjudged the strength of an ebbing spring tide in 20ft of water convinced me to make the investment. Bit of surfing when there are waves, which isn't very often here. Odd jobs around town as a handyman and I do community work. Funny you should mention black bream. They reckon you have to go 10 miles out to sea from here, to the reef, to get them. They don't know what I know though which is a tiny bit of rough ground 1 mile out that has plenty of them. And (sea) trigger fish. And tope, but I drew a line under trying for those after 1. Trying to deal with an angry 4 foot long shark in a little plastic boat isn't really my idea of regular fun. Sorry for your loss ... tough to handle at any time but to lose both in 8 months must have been a trial. Rog Cheers Rog neither of them lost their marbles or spent years suffering so we didn't do badly really, compared to some. The hardest was Mum really, she couldn't cope at all with losing Dad. Especially because he shut off from most things towards the end. He just wasn't interested in anything, Mum took that really badly. They'd had a relationship for so long where they'd shared everything. I think she probably took it personally. She shouldn't have of course, none of us knows what goes through our minds when we know we have a couple of weeks to live. Anything goes, I think.

Haven'tlooked in here for a good while, have things settled down a bit now? How odd! I was thinking of you only a few days ago.... How's life ashore? Sue has left Venetian. Currently closed but.... Most of the usual overstayers were around there a couple of months ago.. Hope you're living the dream - there are so many on the Llangollen now with their lovely new boats doing exactly that.... We need a good harsh winter! Enjoy those seabream. Was a bit tough losing both my Mum and Dad in 8 months. Dad was 89 and went with cancer. It wasn't too drawn out, thankfully. I should have added: If you have enough Pounds, not only do you face have having them devalued by 8% p.a., you are also expected to pay tax to the authority which masterminded and implemented their devaluation, on the 2% offset.

I get the idea that someone on this thread is heavily invested in crypto and looking for reassurance. I've got some! I wouldn't say heavily invested though. 5% of my worldly assets. I bought at just under $30,000 so at current prices there's a 45% or so loss. My pounds haven't done too well either. 10% inflation only offset 2% by bank interest. This is the problem that led to Bitcoin and the like. Governments with deliberate inflationary monetary policy, the only way you can maintain the value of your hard earned, taxed cash is to put it into one risky investment, or another.

I've never really interacted with IanD on there before but have noticed he seems to be "always right". Very low tolerance of the potential for someone else being right and a very inflexible attitude. At one stage there was even the suggestion that an opinion I hold was "wrong". I can't see how an opinion can be wrong. It can be disagreed with and ridiculed but its not posssible for it to be "wrong". Strange situation but I suppose I was being a bit lairy in some ways. It does demonstrate a weakness of a moderated forum. I think he might have wanted to call me a cunt but obviously not allowed over there. It would have cleared the air somewhat had he done this. I don't mind at all. It was Machpoint who said your opinion was wrong. He's the leader of the pack. The rest follow, including moderators.

I thought Communism was left. And Russia was Communist. So why would the hard left have a problem with Russia? It makes no sense. Russia was communist but that ended in 1991.
