Wow Gazza! It's all looking rather spiffing mate. It's already in much better Nick than I am and we're a similar age...😀 Ta! She's making me feel older than I ought to! Got to go into work tomorrow to crack on with the screen, hatch and door, works gone nuts so i am struggling to find the time to do it during the week. It's against my religion to be at work of a weekend, needs must I suppose

She's already decided she will have a red boat called Poppy. It's good to know what you want in life

All repairs, sanding and staining done. been here since 06:30, time to make like a tree and go. I've still got to apply the Le Tonki to the door, hatch, screen and some odd bits of paneling. That will be a job for next week when the Sadolin is nice and dry.

Just ordered a 1ltr tin of letonk for £30 Inc pnp off fleabay. I remember seeing it/Brian at a boat jumble demo-ing it a few years back. Going to give it a go on my front bulkhead and doors.

Wayne you're gonna love this stuff! The ripples are the reflection of the container roof and sides! Goes on easy as anything. A little seems to go along way too - I may have enough yet! Wicked kida, cant wait to get mine done. Does it go on like the usual varnish or is it moe fluid. I am guessing it is more fluid/runny so it can soak into the wood better. How many coats was that done with ?

How many coats was that done with ? It keeps a wet edge much better than yacht varnish. Can be brushed out 10-15 minutes after applying no problem whatsoever. That was one coat! The locker tops have either rubber mat or the cushions on top so I'm leaving that at one coat, they will get knocked about so not too worried about going to town on them. Today I managed to strip all the old varnish off the cockpit lining, fridge enclosure, the helm and cabin bulkhead. I also sanded and got two coats of Sadolin on the deck boards, had to get home to get the roast iny so no pictures and only a short (07:00 - 14:30) day today 🚢⚓🍻👍😀

No, for 1 month I've got two near full time jobs Yesterday I was in off the clock, ID have struggled to pinch 8 hours over the next week or so, luckily I only had two FOC breakdowns to sort, it was high risk as my MD stood the real chance of getting me for nothing in stead of time and a half, luckily the girls were good to me and I was able to crack on unhindered

I love this stuff, creates some odd reflections though The two side windows and one of the three front windows, they have had two coats of Sadolin, I'll be applying the Le Tonki this week, I should think these will get at least 3 coats.

Getting there indeed! just updated my to do list. Cockpit staining and varnish to complete. Cabin door varnish to do on the inside face, got to wait for the outside to harden off more before I can turn it over. There are a shed load of deck and cockpit fittings to clean and re-fit. I am starting to see the light at the end of the paint shed

I love the bit where it all comes of a rush, less so the fiddly details that seem to take forever

I after weighting down the boat on tother side pulled it out by hand, then ground it out to feather of the edges, taped it on the outside, then glassed it up level with 2 heavy mats 6 x 6 at the end, you would hardly know it was ever there it was ove r half an inch thick at the waterline though

Its all a challenge isn't it? renovating old boats or houses it gets us to really think/get involved find out 'how to' do stuff we never would have ever done....I've learnt so much sorting out this old miners cottage I feel I could ...maybe...tackle anything...yet despite all my hands on acquired knowledge and skills family still regard me as a bit of a loser ..someone who gets it wrong more than i get it right....silly cos really i know....
