If you drive like most of the people in this video, it could even cost you (almost literally) an arm and a leg. I had the impression that they'd been drinking way too much of the liquid they get after winning, before they even started. Still I think that it's fun watching all of this on a screen in a safe place. Peter.

Has anyone on here been involved in road accidents at all? I haven't, fortunately.

I've had a few I'm afraid to say.
1 bad one (when I was 19) - head on on route home from work... bus was coming around a sweeping corner a bit wide, I went left a bit to avoid it and skidded on gravel from the laybay where it was stored. Ended up smashing head on into the car following the bus - wrote both cars off and had to be cut out... as did the peoeple in the other car.
Got 6 points and a fine. and a load of vets bills for their dog.
Since then, nothing major... couple of shunts in queuing traffic from behind. Never even bothered with claiming off them as I tend to drive bangers so don't stress when people make a mistake.
I am now a very careful driver and value the space in between me and the vehicle in front as "my survival space".

Few minor incidents...spun a car on the A1 and ended up facing the wrong way..fortunately I was nearly off the road..these people stopped to tell me I'd been driving to fast see if I was OK. Ive also gone into a ditch en route to work..left the house very cross and drove bit fast and lost it on a bend.. Been snookered off roundabout by a git in a volvo estate..he wanted my lane and just hit me...I was only driving a small fiat...he didn't stop....I was to shaken up to continue and went home..my now ex wanted me to carry on with my plans and even offered to drive me to my sisters(seems he just possibly had romancing another booked that weekend) Ive also scraped few walls/fence posts ...

Why do idiots watching rallies spectate while standing on the outside of bends. Frankly they deserve to get squished.
I always used to stand well up or on a straight/inside of a bend.

Numerous accidents, mostly minor. Worst one was half an hour after passing my test, borrowed Dad's car, picked up mates, took hump backed bridge fast, set of temp traffic lights on other side with queue of cars, hit brakes still in mid air, landed and spun, went through fence and down railway embankment. Car written off but no injuries, Dad still wont let me drive his car some 35yrs later!

Nothing of note with me - I've just had a few twerps bump into me, mostly with buses I've been driving, but with our own car I've had a woman drive into the back when I was at a STOP sign (with traffic coming so I couldn't move), and another woman hit us on the side when we were stationary. First woman's husband got a call from the insurance assessor - hubby was not happy but the assessor said what's it to be, lose your bonus or stump up 12,000 Marks (old Finnish money)? (decided to lose his bonus). Second woman we took to Court as after her initial statement to Police, she then lied - she claimed we had turned in front of her which was a complete fabrication.
Quite happy never to have been in any kind of serious smash. I regard myself as a careful, conscientious driver, and 34 years later the proof is in the pudding as they say. Probably the time to hang the keys up is around the age of 75, I think then your brain has shriveled enough to make anyone a menace in traffic - I don't want to hear the usual old stories about 'my mum is 96 years old and still drives herself to Bingo'. 75 - after that, get off the roads!

A couple of minors when I was about 19 and ran into the back of a car through not concentrating.
Worst one was about 30 years ago when I was driving my mother's car and somebody pulled out in front of me because the road I was taking was blocked further down and he assumed I would be turning into the junction he was waiting to pull out of. This was despite the fact I wasn't signalling to turn in and that there was access to the road I needed before it was closed.
Mothers Nissan Micra was a total loss. Luckily only the week before I had bought and fitted some rear seat belts which back then were not compulsory, probably saved my youngest from a nasty injury or worse as she was fastened in with them.

Couple of little dings caused by idiots but when I was 18 I did put my mates Audi 100 through a large double posted road sign. I tried to go around the outside of a lorry on a large roundabout. Dident make it before the lorry started moving over.
When I was a little boy. In a moses basket my mother crashed on a bridge and went through the barrier. We were all ok.
A little old dear pulled out infrony of me on a roundabout and I t boned here wrote of my beloved sierra.
πperhaps I should of been going slower.

Never had any kind of bumpage myself but my ma did a good one... Pa put her car in the garage for her, then afterwards, being a gent, readjusted the seat as she was a short arse.
Next day waiting in gear to back out into road the seat shot back, she couldn't reach the pedals and managed to do a u turn in reverse across the road and back, finally riding up onto a bench before coming to a halt. We laughed but apparently that was wrong.

The worst one in my immediate family was my brother in law (who can't drive properly) turned right in front of a blue lights police X5 approaching at speed from behind him (it was going down the centre of an urban road with siren on) and this caused the police vehicle to impact a shop and virtually demolish it. He was a lucky fucker as the police driver was well trained and managed to take evasive action quite possibly saving his life or at least his limbs. He walked away. Very lucky man. Also a dickhead. Well if we are opening up to include immediate family...
Mum was driving along the M25, foreign lorry couldn't see her so pulled out, Mum's car got caught between lorry's front wheels and the bar that stops cars going under lorries. Car got trapped until eventually lorry demolished enough of it for it to fit below lorry, lorry ran over remains of car. Police/Fire Brigade turned up expecting a fatality. Mum retrieved from wreckage with relatively minor injuries.

Talking of the old bill. At our last place a council van wanted to turn right and four police cars flew by on his left
He decided to get out of the way of the fifth.
Which decides to go to overtake him on the right.
Resulting in the two vehicles being written off, the cop car was launched down the road and ending up writing off my immaculate Passat.
I was not a happy bunny.
