for a while I was driving around in an X19 a smashing little thing, soon as I turned the key I started grinning ...... don't know how they do it but Fiat manage to put pure RUST into some of their little cars !!! (a bit later a mate lent me an Abarth X19 for a few days ...... that was just ecstasy on 4 wheels) PPS although I still have memories of the original fiat 500 complete with the hand throttle, driving to the pub from college with six of us in it ..... 2 in the front, 2 in the back and 2 standing up with their heads through the sunshine roof ....... 0-50 .......... eventually Fixed that for you!

Tautology alert. If you are impersonating something, you obviously can’t be that something. Anyway the whole thing of vaguely resembling the look and feel of something from the past is common amongst narrowboats. How many have roses and castles? (we don’t, thank god!). It’s a bit like a Mini. Or a Fiat 500. Or a beetle. Maybe a fake copy of the original but so much better than a bland eurocar. (Or clonecraft in boating terms). At least it has a distinctive look. The thing is, you have never actually seen a Hudson owner in a grandad shirt and neckerchief. That is reserved for historical narrowboat operators especially President. Ah but, say it quietly, A modern Fiat 500 is a rather marvelous machine, I'd be more comfortable driving a 500 than dredging the bottom of the BCN on a Hudson. I'd take the bus over driving any Mini - ancient or modern. Is this including the Project Binky Mini ?
