Obnoxious ageist - I never realised how right so many are about you - glad I shan't have to pretend to be polite in passing as you'll be off the cut soon x
p.s. how judgemental - you have no idea how old I am - nor the disgusting state of the bins at Gayton junction before they disappeared x

Hi Debs! The bins at the Service Station in Penkridge are full. Could you pop round and empty them? Thanks! My missus told me there was something on a FB group about the bins overflowing at Cosgrove. Apparently there was some kind of fete going on and Mr Parry was there. A load of them dragged him there to show him. No idea if it got sorted...

I still think boaters bins should be on boats, accessible by boaters only. It wouldn't be rocket science to sort it and then move them by water where a hiab crane could get them emptied into wagons. This type of bin built into a boat also with a waste oil tank with automatic overflow lid and some sort of arrangement to prevent people evacuating their bilge into it. And sloping areas like they use on freight trains to prevent unauthorised passengers. This would be to prevent people dumping oversized items which should technically be taken to a municipal site or chucked in the hedge. All a nice design project for someone. Some of the bins are a disgrace and it could be so much better. And dedicated to boaters by making it inaccessible from land.

Some of the bins are a disgrace and it could be so much better. And dedicated to boaters by making it inaccessible from land. I think there is a problem with non-boaters using CRT refuse sites. So anything which makes it less accessible to non-boaters is good. How about adapting old dredgers to become waste collection vessels? You could moor them in places which are just off the tow path but still accessible by boat. The trouble is that now that CRT are pushing for the idea of the canals being for everyone, then it could be argued that the refuse areas should be for anyone who gets ‘well being’ from the cut.. If so, surlely the government should be funding it, not just boaters.
