He's taking a bleedin' long time to 'pull it to London'. He was in Leeds last Summer 2017 - and we passed him this Summer - guess where - yep, Leeds!
"Rules from the Canal and River Trust mean he can only have the Piano Raft stationed in one place for at least two weeks, leaving him constantly having to move forward" - well, they certainly have a blind eye this time. It was more or less in the same place we passed it last Summer. On the other side of the bank. Hmmm... does that count as 'a different place'?
"Right now I am staying close to a beautiful stream. Not everyone will take the time to see it but I do.” - indeed.

It is beautiful.
We saw it at Leeds, but it was on a private mooring on the offside just above the new student flats.
Ignore foxy, he's irrationally judgemental.

It's a shabby shack and the piano has been rained on and is rotten to the core. Perhaps he will raffle it?

It's fascinating 'in the flesh'.
I've given it a vote.
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder... get it out with Optrex (S. Milligan)

Why doesn't someone pop round and ask him to join TB? He might even make you a cup of herbal tea.

It's a shabby shack and the piano has been rained on and is rotten to the core. Perhaps he will raffle it? Sometimes the esoteric transcends regulations. I'm voting for it because I like it, the washing machine 'porthole' is perfectly symbiotic... just a different word to "shabby" But what would happen if 100 other people decided to do the same thing? Is it "reasonable in the circumstances"?

Sorry I was responding to your "transcends regulations" comment. I certainly like to see a variation of boats but I would bet if this were copied it would no longer be a novelty rather it would be a problem. For example once the vessel becomes unsustainable who is it that pays for it to be disposed of? Does it end up getting swept up by CRT with their bottomless pit of money (some of which comes from license payers). Just being realistic

He might be taking the urine a bit but I quite like the thing... AND the Bath-tub he uses as a dingy to get to the towpath side. He's now doing "towpath Yoga" and other stuff I can't remember for a modest fee... good luck to him.

Why would this boat be any more of a problem than any other?

I wonder if the MCA would allow it to do the coastal run in the event it doesn't fit through narrow locks (en route to London) or maybe its got wheels. .
