Sometimes the esoteric transcends regulations. I'm voting for it because I like it, the washing machine 'porthole' is perfectly symbiotic... just a different word to "shabby" But what would happen if 100 other people decided to do the same thing? Is it "reasonable in the circumstances"? The shed/boat is fully legal, safety cert, insurance, index number and liscence. So why shouldn't another hundred people do the same? They won't because it takes effort and being slightly eccentric. We used to celebrate eccentricity in this country it seems to just get dismissed nowadays. I must admit his shed seems to have got bigger since I last saw it about five years ago on the other side of the Pennines, but FairPlay to the guy he's out there doing it. I know in the time he's been moving the shed, he has taken moorings on occasion to stay in places for a while. I imagine he's in Leeds wondering how he's going to "pull" it on the river sections that you get below Leeds.

That's good kris. Changes the situation. winn earlier suggested that things like this somehow "transcend regulations" this is what got me concerned but if its all above board etc then its not so much of a worry. I still think its going to be a bit awkward once he gets to the narrow bits. I suppose in the next 20 years a wide north-south link might become available for example at Foxton so to be fair to the bloke he might have his plans in order

The one thing you could say about the guy is maybe his forward planing isn't the best as he hasn't really thought the route he's taken through. How he's going to get it up the Trent I don't know and as for the narrow canals, maybe he will rebuild it into a narrow version and then rebuild it again on the wide southern canals. But at least he is out there doing something different with his life. So Andrew beware the piano shed is heading your way.

I think it has another name as that name doesn't turn up on the Boat List. As it has been licensed for at least 3 or 4 years it will have turned up on there by now
