That said we have a mutt friendly one here which daughter plus her 2 dogs, grand daughter and I went for a coffee. I sat with the dogs whilst daughter went to get colouring with the little one..a table had their food delivery and out from under came this exocet missile straight for granddaughter. It was only the swift action of a waiter who grabbed her and elevated her beyond reach that prevented her being bittern. The pub was brilliant and told the people to eat up and go. Daughters dogs heard the fuss and the little one scream and they wanted to join in!.. I'm all for pubs being dog friendly but some folk r clueless...its not the dogs but idiot owners who cause problems The pub still mutt friendly but now has a sign up regarding keeping on lead and under control.

This is the problem. I have no issue with well behaved dogs in pubs. The trouble is that if you have a “dog friendly” sign up in the pub, it brings in all and sundry including people who think their dogs are more important than other human customers. And of course, all dog owners think their pets are well behaved. So overall, I think pubs should be for humans, not for dogs. All the above also applies to children. Pubs are for adults, they are not a kiddies playground!

In fact, there have been times when my dog or child have been better behaved than the bloody adults present (not necessarily together though!)

Just walked across the fields to the Duke of Cumberland at Clifton. Five hand pulls and happy hour 4pm to 6pm Great selection of beers and £2 per pint. Two pub dogs, a husky type and a staffy ... very friendly with people and dogs ... I quite like dogs in pubs ... goes together like Mr Stabby and inflatables People tend to be the problem. Rog

I like dogs in pubs ..its just the occasional owner whose clueless. Same with kids, if they behave ok..lets face it if pubs hadn't opened their doors to families they'd be a lot more closed down.. Perhaps there should be a time limit..say 9pm which is enforced in a few pubs round here.

Enjoyed a sunny cruise down to the Pig Place for breakfast, coffee and to buy bacon and eggs. A lovely place, but as you'd expect, not cheap. Moored below Aynho as dark clouds were gathering and a squall building. No sooner into the boat than it was lashing down ... stopped and the winds also gone ten minutes later. Not sure whether to push on or stay here ... drink my coffee and cogitate on the matter. Rog Dogless was in Northamptonshire and I missed him 🤬😤

Way back when in the 80's mouse used to go to the pub up the road from his house he'd park his HA Van in the pub car park, stick radio 1 on and provide the three of us with a drink and a bag of crisps each - Friday night was Tommy Vance's rock show - no wonder my musical knowledge is quite good. Try getting away with that now ☹️

We wonder or boat down to the three magpies near the marina, they let dogs in but only in to the bar area and not restaurant.
Its no issue they can eat in the bar area.
Seems a healthy balance to me.
My daughter loves dogs and plays with every dog she meets, she will always wait and ask the owner for permision first. The last two trips i think she spent more time on other peoples boats with their dogs than on our own.

Five hand pulls and happy hour 4pm to 6pm Yes, that would tend to put a smile on my face too.
