Crisis at Selby road bridge.
Well not so much for us, but for the large cruiser in front that needed the bridge swung. A massive entire tree blocking the bridge portal. Fortunately we managed to sneak past the non-swinging part of the bridge, flowers still intact. They ended up going back to Naburn.
Entry into Selby lock quite straightforward.

No because the golf balls are spheres with dimples in them!
If people had narrow boats with dimples then yes I could agree with this concept but they don't so I won't.

OK sorry to be a bore but what are the imitation rivets for? Makes the boat go faster. Like the little blobs on gold balls. If I could be allowed a brief moment of pedantry, golf balls have 'indentations' or what are sometimes called 'dimples'. They don't have blobs that protrude from the surface. The affect of your rivets is more than likely to make the boat go slower due to the increased wind resistance. edit - Beaten to it by MM.

My guess is ... to draw the eye AWAY from the helmsman in his kilt. Think of them as protection against sudden gusts etc Rog

‘Tis so peaceful here tied up in the middle of nowhere at West Haddlesey. Just the faint tweeting of birds and sighing of the wind. If I listen very carefully I think I can just hear the distant squeaking of outraged TB members furiously typing. Very therapeutic.

And just for reference, this was it on the way up on the flood. Amazing what a bit of water does to one’s headroom!

And can I just mention Vazon sliding railway bridge at Keadby. Very impressive! Didn’t take any decent pics but someone else did:

Up here we have/had rollers.
