Apparently a 3 month delay is being sought. What is the point? I wonder. What's 3 months after 3 years? And then another 3 months. And another 3 months. I did say earlier that I thought Boris was just another EU-employed trickster, now in to make people think things are different now that that awful hag May has gone (but not without her handsome pension!) - only they aren't. I agree with you Foxy. Our so called ‘government’ still fails to uphold democracy. You’re probably better off staying in Finland even though it’s s bit chilly out there...

Postmen (err... 'people') have had a 30% pay cut and are on strike here! So much for "Finns being the happiest nation". I expect the answer is to ship in more cheap labour from Poland, Estonia, Lithuania and Latvia and to tell the Finnish postmen to fuck off. That's certainly how Helsinki City got rid of its Finnish bus drivers.
From YLE (Finland's BBC) 4 days ago:
Postal strike delays deliveries as union claims pay set to be cut by 30 percent Workers at sorting office walked off the job on Friday. A strike at postal sorting offices will delay deliveries in parts of the country on Friday, and the dispute is set to widen next week.
National mail company Posti says that due to unofficial walkouts by workers in Tampere, Vantaa and Jyväskylä, there may be some delays to package deliveries in those areas.
The postal workers’ union PAU has called for strikes starting on Sunday at 10pm and with workers expected to return to work on 5 September, but some workers walked out on Thursday and Friday on hearing the news that their pay was to be cut from November.
The dispute stems from a move by Posti to transfer some 700 workers from the current sector-wide collective agreement to an agreement covering newspaper deliveries with significantly worse terms and conditions. The change will effectively cut workers' pay while introducing bonuses for productivity, customer satisfaction and quality of work.
PAU claims that the move would see pay cuts of up to 50 percent, with the average affected worker losing 30 percent of their salary.
The 700 affected workers deal with package and online shopping deliveries, and their new terms and conditions are slated to come into force from 1 November.
Posti said yesterday in a statement that the move is part of an efficiency drive that is targeting 150-200 million euros in annual savings by 2021.
Yeah - all those 'savings' go into the pockets of the bosses.

Remainer Meltdown!
"Konnie Huq was born in Hammersmith, west London to Muslim Bangladeshi parents."
Seems to like the idea of people having their heads chopped off.
"Privately educated Konnie is probably upset that she will now have to pay more for her au pair or won’t get served in Pret A Manager"
"Like a demented spoilt child losing its first board game, reaminers using twisted logic spew a never ending list of things we never voted for."
"she's fit."
"fit for the asylum"

Reading the news this morning, it seems that mad Boris also makes his living by stoking controversy. What a knob!

I just turned on the news (for about 3 minutes ..... which was all I could stand)
"We will not leave without a deal under any circumstances, so we will negotiate a better deal with the EU "
Am I totally mad or are these people ?
How the hell can you negotiate when you have just surrendered ?
It's like an employee going to his boss and saying "I won't leave or take any industrial action against you but please Sir can I have a 20% pay rise"
and these twats have been elected to run this country ?
Do they honestly think that they will still be in a job after the next election ?
Robert Catesby had the right idea ..... just a shame that he was another aristocratic incompetent product of a university education and failed his task so miserably
I'm now going to go and wire up a 6 cyl Perky in a barge and try and forget about this horrendous shit storm that parliament has engendered

The employer says bye then. This then results in the employee with no job, no money and no future.

Depressing isn't it JohnV. I can't believe anyone on either side of the debate can be impressed with the 'mother of all parliaments'. A general election looks unavoidable now ... but I remain unconvinced that any new government will actually act on the will of the people. Rog

I'm loving it! Watching the Cons destroy themselves amidst high drama, beats rugby as a spectator sport!
At the current rate of loosing Con MPs only Boris de piffle and Jacobite Rees Moggie wil be the only Con MPs come Halloween!

Whatever the referendum result it is absolutely clear that parliament collectively will not allow us to leave the EU. We are in, and what's worse, we are now entirely enthral to the EU as they have seen our 'hand' as it were. I wish I could tell you that there was a party that held a degree of respect in my eyes. Disgusted of Braunston Rog

Disgusted of Braunston Rog I’m just wondering whether Farage will now become PM. If we see another general election and the majority see UKIP as the only way out of the EU state, it could happen. I think the general public can see how incompetent Labour and the Tories have been at upholding democracy....for well over 3 years now!

Rog I think we will end up with a tory/brexit party tie up brexit party targeting labour leave areas and tories targeting tory leave areas with leave candidates installed interesting times
