I live off profits from property. Zero positive impact on the economy, little or no travel required. Therefore, less damaging to the environment than just about any job anyone could mention. Yes i suppose the carbon footprint of the heating systems would be considered the occupiers. Indeed. If a tenant chooses to use too much gas rather than putting a couple of extra jumpers on, the blame can't be put at my door.

It is debatable, as iimagine you bought the boilers and pay for them to be serviced every year. It goes to hilight the issues with trying to count carbon.

Actually no because I do not own any shares or property and gain no income from either. Not my cup of tea. If I did I would not be able to validly criticise those who live by these means And no pension. Sorry if this does not conform to your assumptions. Sorry i was under the impression you are a trustafarian? I was one years ago but not any more.

I'm sure you're far to busy pissing the family fortune up the wall. No criticism there, I'd be doing the same if someone a few generations back hadn't beaten me to it. That's rather a brutal way of putting it!

If the tenants weren't there they'd be somewhere else, using boilers, avoiding jumpers. Given that I can't change the fact that these people are on the planet I can't be held to account for their lifestyle choices and carbon footprint. If I had a new house built that would be different of course, but mine were built around 1900. I like things that last a long time, it's good for the environment.

Clinton Cool That's out of order. Electric cars are going to save humans from a fate worse than pestilence. I agree on other points. Is that right? I thought the idea of electric cars was to keep the profits rolling in for certain multi national companies. I think one thing she has got right, is that the idea of ever expanding economic growth is a fairy tale. Kris ,car companies dont want electric cars! They want to produce ICE cars, they have been doing it for years and know how to extract as much profit as possible from them, why change a successful equation? Whats forcing change is everyone but climate deniers can see CO2 is destroying earth, and NOX is killing and maiming people! Others try to tell you that electric cars arnt clean but forget that ICE cars have twice as many pollution problems and Hydrogen cars are a disaster in terms of pollution. Me I am 61 so will more than likely die of old age younger people will have a fairly miserable existence before a lingering death gets them! When building they design them with a 75 year lifespan knowing that it doesnt matter as we will all be gone anyway rant over

We could stop producing alot of things tmw. Which would cut emissions.

You might not Kris but people have to go to work, the real solution is a smaller population but that wont happen in my lifetime We have enough cars estimated 1.4 billion up from 670 million in 1996. To keep building anymore of any description is madness. www.carsguide.com.au/car-advice/how-many-cars-are-there-in-the-world-70629
