That's with the radar arch up. It's easy to fold it down. The massive springs in the engine room deal with the weight perfectly well not a problem it just folds down nice and relaxed. Quite a handy height for a radar to be at to be fair. I keep finding more clever things about this boat it's incredible how well put together it is. Everything I see I just nod to myself and say "well, yes that IS the way to do it to be fair". It's 100% in terms of technical competence. Very odd boat so not everyone's cup of tea but it is a masterpiece.

The weird thing with this boat is it is not particularly big but it really feels like you are in some massive ship. It's the wheelhouse design. It's also quite heavy so takes a while to slow down.
The steering is so tight being chain and rod no backlash it's like driving a car so does take a bit of getting used to. I'm getting there.
It's rather pleasing and goes like stink if you give it some oil ![

that whip aerial is a bit showy - unless you are in touch with GCHQ of course.

It's quite a long one yes. I think the intention with this boat was to do everything extra heavy duty to make sure "it will be okay" when the hurricane arrives.

No horn on this boat but I was lucky enough to find a very nice train horn yesterday for a fiver. I mated it to an old CO2 fire extinguisher I recently found in the bushes and it does seem to make a little bit of noise. Hurt my ears even with the chainsaw ear muffs. It's a LOUD fecker. Nice large trumpet on it. Spun mild steel so very nice resonance. Quite a suitable unit for the Bunker actually.

Its not too hard to mate a small compressor to a fire extinguisher to make an air tank.
