Awll-re-wos. I rang the bells there in June. Didn't realise it was in Wales. I have problems with pronouncing place names in Wales... I now stick a couple of ll.'s pronounced as ff's and leave daughter to correct(as she does!)

I meant to ask jubjub, how did the offenders break in ? They smashed a window on our boat, which in itself was a massive headache, trying to get a matching replacement and getting the boat weatherproof as quickly as possible. Hope there wasn't too much mess. Rog

Awll-re-wos. I rang the bells there in June. Didn't realise it was in Wales. I live in Wales and I can only just pronounce where I live. Other areas leave me tongue tied. There is a hospital at BRONLLYS try and say that phonetically!!

Hope there wasn't too much mess. Rog They jemmied (is that the right word?) the padlock from the stern doors so they bent the hasp a little but no great damage to that. For some reason they broke one of the window blinds and they pulled out the woodwork where the TV was mounted but minimal damage really. It's just the things they took even the umbrella!! They took Hettie the hoover but left a brand new box of ten dust bags. They also took the brolly mate and a bag of pegs!! They took two jackets from the wardrobe but left another, either it didn't fit or they didn't like it!!

Had to leave the boat moored at Alrewas due to lock closures. Despite being close to other boats and properties some pikey b******s broke in.Got a call from police saying mooring ropes had been cut but they managed to pull it to towpath. Forced entry to stern.Had to drive 3 hrs back to assess damage. It had to be boaters as they knew what they were after, batteries, invertor, mooring pins, windlasses, tiller arm, ropes etc B******s even took the dogs life jackets and the kettle.Fortunately didn't take starter battery so was able to take to mooring. Police absolutely useless, said impossible to find culprits so just contact insurance company. Absolutely gutted. That is just horrible I know how gutting it is when your stuff is stolen..thing is if they don't intend it for another boat it fetches way under its value.. I hope the insurance pays out and covers everything... Did any other boaters see anything? Only the boater who helped to moor up my boat but she didnt see anyone. It had to be another boater given the things that they took.

Don't be surprised if you're still discovering stuff thats missing in weeks to come. We had a pair of radios still in their box unused ... three months after the break in my young neice visited and I went to get them out for her to play with and realised that they'd gone. Hope the bad feelings are diminishing a little Rog

1. How about making a complaint about the Police? We watch Endeavour and Midsomer Murders and know they can find the guilty persons if they really want to. 2. No evidence it was 'pikeys'/'travellers'. If boaters, then probably those without a licence, and they wouldn't be around if CRT pulled their filthy boats off the canals and crushed them (with the owners inside). 3. Go and steal dogless's ropes and windlasses and batteries and kettle... then he will "have a tale to tell over a pint" - I mean, it's only stuff, isn't it? Well there is another story!! We were moored in Loughbourgh when someone ran along the roof. Partner went outside and two lads jumped him started hitting him so I got outside and pulled one off and gave the other the hardest kick to the back of his knee that I could. Ian was bruised and bleeding, and shocked, he has a form of Aspergers so was very upset, so I rang the police. At that time the lads were with another and two girls sat on a bench 200yds away, this was at about 6pm. The police said they come right away as I stressed the culprits were still around. At 9.30pm they rang back saying they couldn't get to us and it would be impossible to catch them now anyway. I was brought up to have respect for the police but now I only hold them in contempt. When my partner and I moved to Wales our closest neighbours started a campaign of abuse against us that got so bad we had to put up CCTV cameras with audio, as it was what they were saying as much as what they were doing, including knocking me over in his landrover. I will keep the story short but it went on for over 3 years and drove me to try and consider suicide. Despite all our evidence the police said, and I quote "they would not prosecute them as they fostered children and would lose a major part of their income stream" (we have this in writing). We tried to take out a private prosecution but the police convinced the CPS not to allow it. This is only a small percent what our neighbours did and of how the police handled things they were so biased (I could go on with examples) So we are now in the process of suing Dyffed Powys Police. At this time DPP were being investigated as two officers were found having sex in an office whilst on duty, another was prosecuted for drug dealing and a third was prosecuted for sexual harassment when they subjected a new recruit to an 'initiation ceremony' I wont go into details but it was disgusting and you can look it up if you want. So forgive me if I have no regard for the police. Sorry to go off piste....

My little sis has been broken into 8 times ..she now doesn't bother to replace anything unless its stuff they use. The last time they left the pillow covers they'd taken off for their hoard on top f the stairs as nowt of value..the time before they took place mats with gold coloured rim..yep they actually thought they had gold in them. I would never keep on living in a place thats been targeted that often.

In 25 years the crimes against me of car and motor bike theft, housebreaking, smashed car windows for the radio, beaten up by gangs for no reason and a mugging totalled 24. Since I moved away from Stockport, 15 years ago, the total is zero.
