I have spent my life not having things if I don’t have the money, apart from a mortgage, however if I’m going to catch and die from Coronavirus I better start borrowing frantically, get my own back on the banks...... They will always have the last laugh. Don't do it...............

You may believe in the power of music You may believe in the power of prayer But it's only the skin of your knuckles that are keeping the plane in the air. Actually the last thing I am is a God bothered so I guess it's music which keeps me buzzing along. I find it helps to relax me, helps me concentrate and helps to pass the time. I have a playlist of about 50 or 60 numbers that all signify periods of my life and when played they rouse good memories. Phil Oh and a big thank you to Bluetooth

I believe in the possibility that Covid-19 will infect everybody, and that the Chinese already have the antidote. Some will die, some will 'recover', but the virus will not actually leave your body. Like shingles:
"Shingles is caused by the varicella-zoster virus — the same virus that causes chickenpox. After you've had chickenpox, the virus lies inactive in nerve tissue near your spinal cord and brain. Years later, the virus may reactivate as shingles."
...Covid-19 will remain dormant until the onset of cold weather next Winter when it will re-appear to strike down those it didn't get last time, after having had that period to adapt or mutate into a more lethal strain.
Eventually the Chinese will 'discover' the antidote and begin marketing it. Some tablets will be the real McCoy, other batches ordered through Amazon or eBay from China will just be mud dust and bat wings ground up and moulded into pill form.

I am rather envious of people like my eldest sister, who has an unshakeable belief in God ... not in a preaching, evangelical way ... just quietly, calmly ... with some kind of inner strength which permits her to accept what she can't change.
Her husband died of MND after a 12 month crash from healthy to bed ridden, and shortly after the virus takes hold of the world.
Yet her faith comforts and keeps her strong ... that's impressive in my eyes.
I believe after gazillions of years of nothing, and by a freak chance, we are born ... live ... die ... more nothing.
Be the best version of 'you' you can be ... and try never to do something you'd be embarrassed or ashamed of later ... but I envy my sister's comfort blanket and support.

Ross, FFS must you shit on every lawn !!!you don't have to take your vulpine name seriously enough to follow all their disgusting habits When China has upped the cost of 'personal protective equipment' and, after taking the money return sub-standard crap, that is just laughing in our faces. If they said 'Sorry' and sent out properly manufactured 'PPE' (our latest trendy acronym) for FREE, that would be a different scenario. "There is scant comfort for Britain and other Western democracies in seeing China - the source of the deadly Covid-19 virus - emerging so rapidly and strongly from the crisis. The ability of its leader, Xi Jinping, to invoke the ruthless powers of the state to combat coronavirus and to make sure dissenting voices were silenced gave the Chinese a huge advantage. So China is flaunting its triumph over coronavirus - but be in no doubt it is also set to exploit the paralysis that has enveloped Western economies to its own ends, in terms of finance, and greater global power." www.dailymail.co.uk/debate/article-8202067/ALEX-BRUMMER-China-exploit-fallout-coronavirus-giving-world.html

Ross, FFS must you shit on every lawn !!!you don't have to take your vulpine name seriously enough to follow all their disgusting habits Ross what is wrong with you. I, and a lot of other people are getting totally fed up with you sidetracking every single thread on this forum into your own personal Daily Mail fueled fucking rants. I am not interested in the half digested regurgitated crap that you are spreading in every single part of Thunderboat. You are not content with plastering over all the threads which contain controversial stuff but spread it into what were, till you marched in, quiet and thoughtful threads. You have even plastered your bile over the "anything upbeat and positive to say" What do you not understand about shut the fuck up with your rants

I’ve tried ignoring some people on here, and making exceptions for them. However,I am getting to the point where I will be avoiding them after this mess has been sorted. This makes me sad.

I don't like to use labels these days, every one of us are different and have different beliefs at different times in our lives. I doubt many people are 100% atheist or 100% religious, I suspect we all move about on a spectrum during our lives.
Like probably a few here I was brought up with the church in my family. My mum went to a non conformist church and my dad was a Quaker. In my early 20s I did a bit of spiritual searching, but when I settled into a village near Luton with my family we used to attend the local C of E in the village. Even became good friends with the vicar there. I never really got on too well with the main service but weirdly I used to like the sermons! It was also more about being with others who were also searching. We used to have a mens meeting where we discussed all things spiritual and philosophical.
I suppose I have always had a faith really. It has always been more of a personal thing though. I'm not big into evangelism, I just try to be kind to people when I can. I'm not great at it sometimes especially when my ego gets in the way.
Nowadays I wake up every morning and am very grateful to have another day in this life. Everywhere I look in nature I see creation and find it difficult to believe this is all just a big accident. It does feel like there is some kind of 2 way relationship with our creator but for me it seems more through the heart than the mind. In fact I'd go as far to say that the mind gets in the way of my feelings sometimes.
There are definitely times in my life that my faith has been tested but it has usually made me stronger. I also think it's important to find your true self rather than try to be like others. I think we spend too much of our lives chasing other peoples dreams rather than our own.

I believe in few things:
Kindness,
Compassion,
Humility,
Humour,
Consideration,
Anticipation,
Stoicism (sometimes)
Love,
Integrity
and the motto "whenever you bend over, pick something up".
