They are dipped in a thin orange batter.Lots of chippies in the Midlands offer orange or normal chips.🍟 Mmm - went to the near 24 hour one near Red Kiln and was offered a choice. Went for a mix! what do orange chips taste like?

Well I've booked 4 nights in the Basin on shoreline (12.50 a night) so that will make change over much easier now the alternator is playing up - oddly, yesterday, it chucked out decent power for a while first thing (tassimo and toaster) - took the bank up from 61 to 85% before any solar took over but then at tea time when I fired up the microwave for 3 mins (frozen jam roly poly) the batteries dropped as it did bugger all again.

Really quiet on the Avon & I mean really quiet.A boat going by is a source of great interest. Spookily quiet here, too. Apart from the old boy who never leaves the car park next to the "posh" restaurant, I am the only boat moored in Compton (stayed for the excellent Chinese and silly bargains in Sainsburys). However, as Telemachus warns, they're all out in September - and they like telling you why and all about it! Don’t they just! Met the first couple yesterday. Watched as one of them told a hire boat lady that she was doing everything wrongly, and too slowly. Was amused as the hirer said sorry, and asked the ‘experts’ to show her how it should be done. Few minutes later, hire boat exited the lock and cruised off. The shout from the ‘expert’ asked why they hadn’t stopped to close the gate. Hirer lady replied ‘ I don’t know how to, I’m just a hirer’. I was given a dark look form the ‘experts’ when I giggled.

Give your wires a wiggle first, this is what i have learnt from owning a boat.
