Really stupid verdict. They should each have been jailed.

Not sure about the jail, they should have been found guilty and dealt with accordingly.

Not sure about the jail, they should have been found guilty and dealt with accordingly. Well, the birch would have been better, but jail would have sufficed.

They were processed and tried and found not guilty ... the jury clearly decided their actions were justified.

Juries have always worked and voted on their views on the evidence ... not the letter of the Law.

Juries have always worked and voted on their views on the evidence ... not the letter of the Law. Rog Sadly, and as we have seen in this instance, you are correct, but it has not always been so. The jury seems to have completely ignored the evidence in this case. I’m looking forward to seeing the return of the vigilante.

Personally,I think it's sheer vandalism & they should have been found guilty. What their beliefs are shouldn't count,an act of vandalism is just that.

It seems a perverse decision to me, but I didn't listen to all the evidence presented in court. The people charged admitted what they did but their defence seems to have been 'they did it for the greater good' - to prevent another law being broken. There are other laws that allow this defence such as killing someone in self defence, so not a completely new type of defence in law. Surprised by the verdict and think it should be challenged and/or explained (the lawful defence, better than what it has been in the press).

Is there scope for the CPS to appeal? Not sure.

Is there scope for the CPS to appeal? Not sure. Don't know. From a quick Google it seems a complex subject, not really surprissed by that.
