Looking through Facebook and saw this thread …..I mean, just why? where does this resentment come from? Anyone who CC’s & holds this view or general marina moorers being subject to this, care to comment as to why?

It’s irrational - people who CC do not mix with people who live in marinas, so how could they possibly know that the latter are “toxic”?

Because Marina dwellers are just a bunch of ex caravan site dwellers who just got rich and posh, who in there right mind wants to be 2ft alongside their neighbours. Madness!

Because marina dwellers are happy that the individual amounts we all pay to CRT are being equalised.

I'm neither a Continuous Cruiser nor a Marina Moorer so let me just grab my popcorn.

A large proportion of people living on boats at our marina never ever leave the marina, a few very occasionally venture out for a day or two. We are pretty much the only ones who go out on long trips (and of course we don’t permanently live on the boat). I don’t understand why anyone would want to live in a “boat car park” but they do, and they are entitled to their lifestyle choice I suppose.

Maybe it’s because the marina moorers have just voted for a big surcharge on cc’ers licenses? It’s just a thought.

I understand why some enjoy marina life ... all the conveniences of a land home (including transport) but on water.
And people I know love the feeling of being part of a small clearly defined community.
Personally, boating is about moving ... the limitations boating imposes aren't worthwhile without the travel.
Once we've moored in a marina, or indeed back in the arm at our base, I can't wait to get away.
I find the 'politics' of living close to other people (who gets on with who; who parks where; when it's alright to use the washers and when it's not etc.) too much for me.
But I'm always grateful when cruising by a full marina that many people love the life.

Will you end up paying more, or less, contribution to CRT than a boat the same size in a marina? I can't seem to get a straight answer to this from any ccer.

I know I pay just about 1k to CRT for my licence and mooring contribution. But then I've got a small boat with a cheap mooring at the top of the hill. I don't think ccers should pay more to CRT than a boat in a marina, that wouldn't be fair.
