It looked massively fucked inside. wyes steel work is sound. The engine installation is very good if the engine is a bit boring. The boatman’s cabin is still there, although unlined. Mind you it is 7-8 years since I was on board.

Legal implications?
Same as with a car I expect.
If the original owner can prove in court that the boat was seized illegally then the boat still belongs to them. End of story... you then can try getting your money back...

I initially read this as someone getting a CRT seized boat for 50% of the advertised price and I was initially like 'OMG' then I was like 'that is not what was written' and I was like 'Oh well there goes another exciting story'.
And I'm like yeah yeah yeah.
Isn't it.

Personally I think anybody who would buy something that’s been seized by bailiffs is scum. Profiteering off other peoples misfortune is for low life’s.

No problems with the legalities ... sure lawful ownership will be certified.
My concern would be in any stigma attached to the boat due to its history dampening down demand and consequently the price.
Must be better boats with uncomplicated back stories don't you think ?

misfortune or serious pisstaking being brought to a justified end? 🤷🏽♂️ Weren't the Burscough seized boats moored outside private property on the offside? I would not call that serious pisstaking. Pisstaking is when you moor on the towpath aide.

Is it the Equus (blue one) old Bantock fore end, stainless steel deck hardware and a mediocre steel counter ?
Boring inside but quite functional. Steel cabin..
