That would be a good Boat to deliberately ground on a storm surge in an estuary.
If it has not already been done.

That would be a good Boat to deliberately ground on a storm surge in an estuary. If it has not already been done. AFAIK. It was in sheltered waters in a storm and broke its moorings. It is right opposite a boat scrapyard. It may or may not have been there. MV Carmel. It was in use. Quite often spotted along the coast.

People probably don't know about the Boat eating borer worms which have been accidentally imported from Chile in supermarket products.
The Ferrodrillus Holusmakae and there is also the genus Sinkus Fiberglassii. They are not unlike the Gribble worms.
These worms are as yet new to surveyors but known to those in the know to be able to bore through thick stuff fast.
The Ferrodrillus for example can get through 10mm of EN43 steel plate in 13 days if it also has a suitable supply of water.
They can work from inside a wet bulge or outside in a natural canal environment.
A way to deal with them is to fit a vibrator to the base of the craft which emits a noise which the worm recognises as a predator.
I am working on these vibrators as we speak. They should be about Β£135 plus p&p and will have lithium battery with operating time of approximately 14 days plus tungsten coated hammers..
Variable speed.

Can you substitute it for the dead mans penis on the figurehead?

Experiments have been carried out with so-called 'dildo' products and they are not loud enough.
Think of it more like an old school doorbell but instead of the bell the hammer strikes the Boat.
Dildos don't work.
Unfortunately the worms are not deterred by women making pleasureable gasping noises. In fact it has been shown that it makes the worms more aggressive and they bore even quicker.
For this reason if one detects the presence of the worms there is strictly no ladies and gentlemen activity advised on the Boat if you value your hull plating. .

Boring worms are a pain. So are boring trolls posting repetitive twaddle. Could he be cured with a large dildo. With the right frequency and sufficient size the troll could be rendered speechless.
