Another couple of inches and this will be a gonna! 😱 Fire yesterdayq apparently, a couple of days of rain will see this one off Im sure!😩 Did you look to see if a Notice of the type and form specified under Section 8(2) of the British Waterways Act 1983 was displayed on, or affixed to any part of, any of the sunk and apparently abandoned boats you've pictured in the course of this thread ?

Sometimes it is rather sensible to deliberately sink heavy Boats because it stops them drifting down the river in the event of the ropes or wires mysteriously parting.

It just amazes me that there's a crt yard right there yet no-one drags it off the visitor moorings while it slowly sinks for well over a year.....

To be fair we don't know what's happening do we.
It's right outside the C&RT yard so they know it's there, which suggests there's a back story ... but what do I know 😁

I like seeing old historic Boats slowly degrading and going back to nature. Not ideal on the towing path side for a number of different rather obvious reasons but its better than destruction and loss of history.
Its only a narrow Boat. Not like its wide enough to cause much of a problem !

Very limited moorings on that summit pound, reduced by the C&RT yard and work boats outside, and then a full length sunken wooden boat, so it is quite an annoyance.
Had there been room we may have stopped, but there wasn't so we carried on and got Buckby done.
Long pound to Stoke Breune now, so even if it does rain we're not locking.
Great simple pub food at the New Inn 👍🏻

We used to moor around Grafton Regis a lot back in the day. Very nice around there just have to watch the Tove when its on the move as can get a bit naughty below the lock flight at Stoke there.
Fond memories of the GU from another life free of strife but encumbered somewhat by a very disturbed mother clearly trying to escape from something.
Aloofness is good but make sure it doesn't get too extreme !

Rog ETA reported to C&RT just in case they're not aware 👍🏻

Apparently C&RT are aware but 'it is being dealt with through our licence support team' and is a complicated situation.
It'll be dealt with a.s.a.p.
