Is that tied to anything? Those two fenders? They need rescuing.

Is that tied to anything? Those two fenders? They need rescuing. Yes they look like the only thing worth saving.

I think you've an unfair advantage on this thread â Admiral, being on the Thames. I photo'd a boat sat on the bottom at the top of Hatton, but being a canal and less than 4 feet deep, it didn't even look sunk. Rog

See what I mean ? The stern was full of water as I went by, so took the photo but it doesn't show really. Rog

This one used to belong to a friend's old man yars ago. He sold it before it became a sinker. Was actually quite a nice river cruiser but of wood. Up and down like the Assyrian empire that one.

A very sad state. But all things have an end. Such is the way of things.
Wooden boats have so much ambience, character etc. And also plenty of ways for the water to get in. I visited HMS Victory a few years ago, I really liked the gun decks. They smell of tar and resin. Lovely. Yes, I know it must have stank like a bad sewer when the ship was in service.

Victory is on my 'must do' list.
Visited the Museum at Greenwich and seen his tunic... what a tiny figure to leave such an enormous legacy.

As previously mentioned, you could easily swing by Chatham docks when in London. That's where Victory was built, dontcha know.
