It's 7 years since we last went into London.
Interested to see what the mooring situation is like and how or if it's changed.
Always a fascinating place to go, but I'm always happy to get back into the country afterwards.

Its an interesting place.
Obviously the wonderful mother of my wonderful children lives there and is staying. This is why I engaged for a number of yars.
There are some advantages. I can count them on considerably less than one hand.
Too many people.
Overpopulation is an issue in a number of different regards.
Its all very tiring.
I think sailing around the world in a sloop might be worthwhile.

Going into London, I've always gone from around Cowley Lock (visitor moorings below lock often have space, or anywhere between there and the Tesco's just past the Slough Arm is safe and normally quiet).
Coming out of London, the offside moorings at bridge 19AC Willowtree are lovely (provided they haven't been overtaken by squatters - the council normally move them on far swifter than CRT).
Other than that you will find places to moor fairly easily, just maybe not in your exact preferred location.
(This does presume you have booked your mooring in central London)

One could always go with the flow and double-moor. I have read many put a sign on the roof indicating whether they are (or are not) amenable to the practice. Make friends...influence people...

I was helping a friend move a narrow Boat through the regents a couple of weeks ago and there were double breasted Boats all over the place. Then we saw a narrow with a bloke sitting on top and a sign saying 'Do not moor alongside'. I thought it quite amusing as this person had a view out of his windows but my friend, who is a pretty relaxed and moderate narrow Boat owner, was livid and told me privately that he would like to go and break the bloke's legs for being such a cunt. So yeah. Mooring alongside is normal. It can make getting on and off a little challenging for older people. So yeah. Book a mooring. Innit and I was like 'Limehouse marina the wall is always available'

Well yes but could he have broken the cunt's legs should he have had sufficient motivation?

If you are mooring at Little Venice, don't overlook a day trip by your boat to either Battlebridge (canal museum) or go a little bit further through Islington Tunnel and wind - it is an interesting/pleasant journey if you have no worries about where to moor.

You should take in a show, nothing too crazy, Le Mis etc 🤮 I cannot abide musicals ! We'll definitely check out the theatres and hope to see something whilst there but musicals are quite popular in theatre land at present. Rog I like some proper musicals, what I cannot stand are the ones which seem like plays until someone randomly bursts into song-& it's always ah ah ahing type singing 🥴.
