Right, 4" (110mm OD ) soil pipe is no problem - I have tucked a bit away to stop it going AWOL We keep 2" nominal bore class e ABS pipe, this has an OD of 60mm - any good to you? Yeah, the 2" Nb pipe will be just the ticket... Thanks. I've now got the camera, the camera dome, the lights, the 40 MHz controller, servo and various other bits and pieces. I'm going to use DC brushless motors as they will run in fresh water without being enclosed so won't leak at depth. I reckon it will cost around Β£250 all in and put a smile on my face...π Cool, I will cut 1 off 4" X 1m and 2 off 2" x 1mm tomorrow. Will message you a mobile number so I can get in touch on Sunday.

I am intrigued as to why you want a 40MHz controller unless it has a long aerial that sticks up out of the water as RF will not penetrate the water. It's on a cable tether which also acts as the aerial.

My thoughts as well Then why not use an umbilical and switch the motors via cable? Also if using an umbilical you can have a small charger up top and get away with smaller batteries or longer battery life. Sorry it's your project, but very interesting. Ignore me :-)

I do know from a bit of research that rc subs all seem to use 40mhz.
