It's funny how the officials didn't like him nipping down the back streets, but were quite happy with the endless panoramic shots of thick smog over their cities! Pity his bike was a bit gutless!

We had smogs in Sheffield later than that, steel making, coke ovens, coal fires etc plus sheffield is surrounded by 7 hills so it would hold it in the basin

That lock and boat lift at the Three Gorges Dam was a bit good. 8 years of pouring concrete, that would have kept the Ready Mix guys busy

I like his obvious enthusiasm, and the way he behaves so naturally and off the cuff.
Scribbling figures on his hand cos he can't remember them, rather than trying to look good.
There's not many tv people these days who'd have a go at half of the stuff he gets stuck into.
I'm still gob smacked at the size of that container dock. 1200 square miles was it, compared to 13 square miles at Felixstowe.
Good to have something worth watching on the idiot lamp.
