I have a couple of minor problems, wondering if anyone can give a few pointers. These have developed recently.
When I turn a cold tap on, there is a delay of about 2 seconds before the pump kicks in and water starts flowing.
When I have a shower, the hot water will slow to a dribble before the pump kicks in.
Neither of these things used to happen, and while the problems are tolerable, I'm wondering what the underlying cause is?

Sounds like whatever sort of pressure switch trips the pump has started to fail and needs a greater than previous difference before it kicks in.

I was thinking maybe there is a restriction or blockage on the inlet pipework, or even the water tank. How full is the tank? Other than that, try another pump.

I was thinking maybe there is a restriction or blockage on the inlet pipework, or even the water tank. How full is the tank? Other than that, try another pump. If that were the case, the pump would kick in straight away but would struggle to pump. The OP says the pump isn't cutting in straight away so it is either an outlet blockage (unlikely if it delivers adequate flow once the pump is running) or more likely a pressure switch issue including, as DC mentions, that the switch's diaphragm isn't properly seeing the outlet pressure.
