I'm pretty good at wiring if you need some help. Some of my work.... My 12V wiring was starting to look like that before the last BSS! It may have been a ball of red and black spaghetti but it was a well engineered ball of spaghetti.

Really grateful for the helpful replies. Only one appliance will be used at any one time i.e. if lap top is plugged in tablet/phone will not be, unless through the laptop. The idea of the cig socket is to do away with having the inverter on just for the lap top for this reason the USB socket idea would not be of use in this instance. Now! Connecting at the other end. I have no spare outlets on my panel so what alternatives do i have there? There's many ways of doing it... A couple of typical ways would be fit a panel mounting circuit breaker as mentioned above, or a single blade fuse holder, I quite like these: www.ebay.co.uk/itm/12V-24V-STANDARD-BLADE-IN-LINE-FUSE-HOLDER-UP-TO-30A-WITH-SIDE-SPADE-CONNECTORS-/321425087013Will mean tapping into the feed and return to the existing panel, possibly with ring connectors. If you're not sure about how best to make the crimp connections it could do with a topic of it's own so please do start one and I'll chip in.... I am hoping this suggestion is o.k. Having traced the wires the panel appears to be fed from this connector. So i'm presuming i can come off this to the 15amp blade fuse, asap, then onto the cig lighter (or other type) in 6mm or probably 10mm and back to the neg connector at the back. Does this sound o.k.
