I need to disconnect the inlet side of my water pump. I can turn the water off at the tank and will have to deal with a pipe full of water, but...
Will the pump keep all the water in the calorifier, pipes, pressure expansion things where it is?
It's a shurflo pump.

turn off the pump, open the taps to release any presuure, on my system this stops any back flow.

If the pump is turned off, the water will stay put (apart from a little).

Unless there is any crud under a couple of valves - then it might leak back a little if air can get into the pipes.
