After many years use I needed to change the sink in the bathroom of Sabina H. The original has two cracks caused by objects being dropped from a height (my ex swmbo in her infinite wisdom insisted on a bathroom cabinet set above the sink) a perfect repository for heavy bottles that could delight in descending at considerable velocity at said porcelain object.
The original was one that I acquired when it was removed from an office block (strangely a large proportion of the materials on Sabina H were acquired in a similar manner) and was not ideal in its size or shape (the price however was perfect)
Hunting through the normal range of bathroom sinks, I found that most were far too big especially in the front to back dimension. I thought I had been to almost every supplier, without success, when it occurred to me that Ikea might be worth a look.
When I eventually worked my way through the maze that is an Ikea store and arrived at the bathroom section, my eye lit immediately on a very narrow sink that would be excellent in many restricted bathrooms ........24" wide but only 11" front to back. I considered this one but I decided that if I was washing my face in a sink like that, as I bent forward I would probably head but the mirror, so I continued looking . Along a bit further was another sink, again 24" wide but this time 13" front to back. Perfect for my bathroom. The price wasn't too bad either. The sink plus the twin drawer wall mounted cabinet was £112.00 which I thought very reasonable. together with a mixer tap from B&Q for £35.00 I thought a decent deal.
These sinks are an ideal size for some of the confined spaces where we boaters have to perform our ablutions.
