I mentioned freegle in a fuel tank thread. For those who don't know it's an Internet based recycling site, area based, where you can post unwanted, or wanted, items. So you don't have to go to the tip. I've had everything from bricks and logs to a fuel tank, got rid of loads too, old doors, bricks, computer stuff. I'm signed up to 2 local lists, Rochdale and Calderdale and get an email once a day. Perhaps no use if you are a proper ccer, but moored or cmer......

Worst things was two halves of a breeze block, or a full one in two halfs My sister picked up a load of parquet flooring and did the when downstairs of her house. we had parquet flooring in the hall in our old house, it wanted a bit of love and a few missing tiles replacing, it was on my to do list. I went away for a two day championship meeting in Wales, while I was away my Mrs and her mate ripped it up, skipped it all and put shitty self adhesive vinyl tiles in its place. I was fuming when I arrived home, had no idea until I walked through the door! Worse still was the fact I knew a floor layer that would have paid good money for the parquet and used it to restore other tired floors. I'm not bitter or resentful about the incident....

Being as it was a young HCA and an admin assistant that 'laid' the new self adhesive vinyl tiles they were not aware the substrate needed a skim of self leveling compound to provide a decent adhesive free surface. End result? Peeling tiles after a few weeks I ended up tiling the hall and downstairs bathroom - a job I could of well done without!
