It's the Manchester Pusher again! There surely has to come a point where even the Keystone Kops can see a pattern. I think their reluctance to take it seriously is because a disproportionate number of victims are homosexual, and homosexual murders in Manchester are viewed in pretty much the same way as prostitute murders were twenty years ago, namely "Well what do you expect if you get up to that sort of thing? What do you expect us to do?" |

You would think that if there really was a 'pusher' that at least one of their victims would have survived and mentioned to the police that someone tried to kill them.

Pretty awful thing to find...dunno how the people who have to clear up after these horrible gruesome events cope...I had a really strong stomach at work but I could never deal with body parts coming apart especially if they are decomposing

You would think that if there really was a 'pusher' that at least one of their victims would have survived and mentioned to the police that someone tried to kill them. In a way I would agree, except that there don't seem to be a similar number of incidents in any other conurbation with a canal system, e.g. London, Birmingham. So the possibility exists that if the acts are deliberate then the attacker is adept at selecting victims who, for whatever reason, would be unlikely to seek police involvement should they survive. |

That there is an open water course through the centre of an area noted for very heavy drinking and occasionally wild and loutish behaviour?
It's terribly sad that many young people die in this way, but inventing a 'bogey man' doesn't advance things one jot.
And if there is a high proportion of gay men involved (and I've not seen information to that effect) it would not be overly surprising, given that Canal Street is one of the first, and largest centres of gay bars in europe.

I have to say that the press are very good at making things seem worse than they are. The clothing was tangled in the propeller, not the unfortunate gentleman and the victim was not involved in a fight any time recent to the discovery. The ambulance and paramedics were sent to make sure the skipper was ok, he was and still is deeply shocked. He has however returned to work with a lot of support from his boss and colleagues. |

So when they quoted obviously deceased. It was obvious by being dead for some time. Rather than his head and been cut off by the propellor. Thanks for the clear info. |
