Not directly related to other topics but I've felt lately that I am now ageing very fast. I'm a little over 40 so just above average age for the uk population apparently. Not very old really.
I just find that I feel I am getting old really fast now. It could be related to having two small children (4.8 and 6.8 y.o.) who are growing incredibly quickly. Due to vanity problems (I hate mirrors) I take pictures of myself now and then to check the status.
Am I too young to be worried about this sort of shit.
Should I get some of these button up cardies and just wear them and get on with it.

I have thought more about aging since the dwarf arrived, more so in the last year though. It's something I had never given a thought to up to my mid 30's - it's another of those hackneyed old sayings that's sadly true, the grains of time do seem to pick up pace when kids are involved! I'm coming up on 40, not bothered about hair loss or going grey. I do care about my health, I'll be happy to keep my own teeth, not gain weight and stay fit and healthy enough to keep up with my daughter until she spreads her wings. Anything else is a bonus!

I'm 56 now, hate having my photo taken. we went to a wedding recently and when I looked at the photos I asked the missus who that old bloke was she was talking to as I didn't see him at the reception. I didn't remember seeing him, because it was ME!! WTF happened, I look like I should be smelling of piss n biscuits in an old folks home.

I'm 57 now and I'm fine with it, every age I have ever been has brought its own problems and now is no different. It won't be that much longer before I'm dead and to be honest I just can't wait, it will be like having the ultimate Sunday morning lie-in. Meanwhile, the planet will go on in much the same way as it has done for billions of years, and I'm sure it will manage without my input.

The only real drawback with getting older is the simple fact that all the things that you used to do without blinking now require some thought and take me longer. There is a plus side in as much that I can now play the pensioner card with impunity if it suits me and I can play this card very well I might add. Ohil

The "mid aged crisis". That is what my daughter said when I bought my first boat. Ok, I was slightly older than the pair of you, but the principle still applies. Get over it.

I never even started to think about climbing it - although I may pay more attention to my jumper bobbles now The little buggers do seem to have a habit of reminding us of our own mortality though.

I understand where you're coming from - Im 45 going on 70. I Do have a lot of medical things going on which means lots of pills daily but the choice is a simple one... take them or feel more pain and die. Simples really.
For me, I try to focus on the fact that if it's hurting somewhere... I'm not dead yet!
One bit of advice is AVOID FACEBOOK!!!!!!!
1 min on there scrolling through how marvellous OTHER peoples lives look has you thinking your own is shite. WHEN in reality - THEIRS is probably propaganda posting and YOURS is REALLY the good life... Mine is x

If anyone here feels they have the body of a teenager, give it back right away before you get it all wrinkled!
