I don't think these items at Parbold Dockyard are anything to do with Ainscough's Andy. The sculptings, ironwotk and plaque are to commemorate the last boat built at Sheldon's Boatyard, which was a 70ft Dumb Boat 'Angelo' built for John Parke & Sons Ltd of 23 Syren Street, Bankhall, Liverpool 20.[in 1927br]I enclose a photo courtesy of Ian Moss of this boat converted to Motor in 1950.Β It is taken from Ring o' Bells Bridge June 1962.

Ambush & A37 waiting to unload @ Westwood power station I've used Google photoscan app for grabbing photos from a pub wall etc, it takes 5 shots and combines them, removes glare from the glass and result is fine.

I used to live nearby, went up that chimney when my mate was knocking it down in 1981, took a pic of the old hall, roof fallen in. Clegg Hall, behind the cottages, is 16th century, haunted by a Boggart. It's now been renovated by a rich barsteward. Found a cast iron fire surround in there, rescued it for my house in Smithybridge.

Dredging proper style. 1930s Lock 51 Rochdale Canal, Castleton, were I grew up. Bucket chain dredger. The maltings mill and gantry. Used to play/explore the empty maltings mill with mates when I was about 13, setting off fire extinguishers etc. There were sack slides running from top to bottom between the floors. We climbed in through the fire hole in the cellar. A big space under the hot drying floor up a ladder at the back of the chamber and out onto the first floor through an iron door. All full of soot , in school uniform obvs. Great fun.

Lovely looking shaft in use on the narrow boat. Always nice to see a good shaft being properly utilised.
Good picture.

A loaded motor boat awaiting discharge by elevator and in the distance can be seen two dumb boats 'Claymore' and 'Viktoria' at Ainscough's Mill, Burscough, early 1950s. (Photo courtesy - Tom Spencer)

Evertonβ¦Half loaded in London. She's got around 45 - 46 tons on, at least, . . and that's a lot more than half loaded ! Her TPI (tons per inch), is a touch under 2. Trimmed only an inch or two by the head she'll load 60 tons with water lapping onto the side-decks just slightly forard of amidships.

That duckweed is to die for!
And I was like OMG and the green π₯°
Isn't it. Lots of composters chucking their piss in the cut. Go go go !
I'm out of touch as have never seen that bridge. Things change so fast I can't even see my ears!

A39 had a new owner. Posted in canalworld under the history section so I suggested reading this thread.
Boat is on the move which is nice to hear.
