Has anyone else noticed that as we get closer to the EU vote that TV news has virtually ceased coverage of the migrant crisis in Europe and is also avoiding any coverage of the Calais Eurotunnel crisis. In fact since the government spent over £9 million of taxpayers money on leaflets trying to persuade us to stay in the EU there seems to have been an almost blanket ban on the TV media coverage on the EU migrant crisis. Has the TV media been censored by the government or are they ALL pro EU and reluctant to air anything negative about being in the EU?

Yes, yes and yes is the answer to this. The controlling classes decide whether we stay in or leave the eu, the controlling classes own the media, the average thicko will vote whichever way he is subliminally told to vote in his red-top newspaper.

To some it only matters when the media is saying something against their viewpoint, many of us have been pointing it out for years regardless of what agenda the papers are pushing.

I agree with this except for the thicko bit. Even the most intelligent get sucked in through other means...

I don't know about anti immigration but I am certainly pro controlled immigration and I am stunned when I encounter contrary opinion to that. The last refuge for the common man to receive unbiased opinion should be the BBC and as far as I am concerned they behave shamefully.

I believe that as soon as a Yes vote is returned the gates will open and the hordes will flood in. We will simply be told "you voted for membership we have to take our share".

There's a lot of disturbing footage on social media sites of rioting the other side of the channel over the last few days, still no coverage here.

It doesnt surprise me one iota with luck it will be everywhere tomorrow so the cat will be out of the bag as far as the media is concerned French riot police in battle with Calais migrants, in pictures - Telegraph www.telegraph.co.uk/.../france/.../French-riot-police-in-battle-with-Calais-migrants-in... Riot police fired tear gas to end repeated clashes on Tuesday among hundreds of migrants in Calais who launched their second attempt in two days to storm ... Amazingly that link has been deleted in between me trying it and posting it!!

They must be ice-skating in hell right now because I actually strongly agree with you on this. Even as big as America is, we have been overwhelmed with illegal immigrants and that has been a big contributing factor to the fact that wages have fallen in the last 30 years. I can only imagine what uncontrolled immigration would do to an island. The whole EU, it seems to me, needs to establish criteria that limits the countries that poorer members can emigrate to. Controlling immigration isn't cruel or racist, it's a matter of necessity if you want to maintain your quality of life. Not only that, just think how many Syrian refugees you guys could have helped if you didn't already have a problem with overcrowding. The real problem with controlled immigration is who is doing the controlling. Many tech companies here, including Microsoft, Intel - all of the biggies - hire foreign tech workers at 60% of what they pay Americans. The system is so broken that Disney World in Florida replaced its entire American tech staff with (legal) foreigners and, just to add insult to injury, it made the American workers train their replacements or lose their severance pay.

They're even putting out propaganda over here. Refugees will repay EU spending almost twice over in five years - report (This a link if it isn't obvious) The article is bogus propaganda because it takes the amount of tax dollars that are/will be spent and compares it to the anticipated increase in GNP. Obviously, if you want to be credible, you have to compare increased tax revenues to the tax expenditures. It also assumes that the increase in demand that the refugees create will be sufficient to fully employ the refugees. But it makes a good headline, eh? Just for the record, I'm in favor of all of us taking in the ME refugees because it is our fault that they are refugees. I also don't think you can sit down and try to pencil out the value of a human life. If we can find trillions of dollars for war, we can sure as hell find whatever it takes to handle the refugee crisis we created. Maybe we should take the money from the military and defense contractors and not let them run any more of their profit centers (wars) until their current SNAFU is paid for.

Almost all media is corporate or super-rich dude owned and controlled. It's not hard to make the connection of who benefits the most if you stay in.
