I wonder if anyone has been watching "Mutiny" on the box. I saw the actual replica boat at the Boat show and had high hopes for the tv series ...... but have been dreadfully disappointed. I was expecting (and hoping for) a quality program of an expedition ...... on the lines of the Brendan voyage or Kon Tiki or other such expeditions. Instead it seems to be a cross between Big Brother and the other types of reality tv ........ Terribly disappointing.

TBH nowadays they seem to go for the big bruvver hype and not reality fact based reporting...I tend to watch the documentary channel.if I watch anything..the only useful thing on Sky as I don't subscribe to sports or movies..

Unfortunately the tv program makers seem to have the same kind of taste as Foxy is displaying.
The original journey was a magnificent achievement in (then) unknown waters in an open boat (4,000 miles)

Kids TV is starting to look more highbrow than the shit they serve up for adults now! The Dwarf has took a liking to Rosie and Jim, I was too old for it first time around, it's actually not a bad programme so it gets a thumbs up from me

I've watched it John, but like you have been dissapointed as its all about personnel issues rather than the sailing.

Those waterlogged hands did look a bit nasty though

I have stopped watching the program ...... The whole thing seems very badly organised ..... as I said earlier, it is an entertainment program not a serious expedition. Any sensibly researched expedition would have been well aware of the problems caused by prolonged exposure to seawater, especially to hands. It is mentioned in several of the books on long distance voyages that I have read. (even researching long distance swimming information would have forewarned them ) Lanolin is reckoned to be excellent protection although smelly.
I honestly believe the only properly researched (and built) thing, was the ship's boat

It would have been interesting to see more about the making of the boat.
