That looks impressive. Wouldn't fancy climbing that ladder, up or down. It's a bit tame compared to the one at Ardnacrusha in the Irish Republic... I'd love to take my boat through that lock I've done Tuel Lane in a narrow boat not my own though.

"Went through Tuel Lane lock today. Deepest lock in the UK. Drop of 19' 8". The lockie told me it emptied 140,000 gallons of water each time it was emptied. If I've done the maths correctly this works out to about 630 tonnes. If I had to pay for that water at the average rate water companies charge to householders then my bill would be over £1,200"
So you can't really complain that your last CRT licence cost £670, eh? You've had twice that back in 15 minutes!! 190,000 gallons when a longer boat goes in and they use the back doors.

Only in Ireland could there be the deepest lock in the British Isles (over 100 foot) and have a bloody airdraft restriction of about 9'6"

The amazing piston eating 130mph+ 250 two stroke. What a tool! I preferred these to the RG/V Suzuki but neither could dent my Yamaha myopia The kr1/s could also tank slap it's self into the nearest ditch, hedge, lamppost, telegraph pole, oncoming vehicle -delete as appropriate
