I'm just wondering what tools etc people take to deal with emergencies, e.g. Desiree / snot gobbler overnighting in Newton Heath because of crap round the prop? I like to be independent where I can.
I have an outboard so stuff like that is easy to remove, do Ne it several times on the Newton Heath stretch.
I have hacksaw, cutters, Stanley knife for rope etc. I carry one of those wire engine hoist winches and a couple of nylon slings, to winch open swing bridges and locks if needed. I have a small clamp vice, files, hand drill for small metal repairs and fixes, a couple of glues, araldite and contact adhesive. Multimeter, spare wire and a box of crimp ends etc. A folding bike, useful for going for supplies, lock wheeling, running down water to fill pounds. I'm sure there's more,

Just a general tool box for me and a spare morse cable, fuses and filters but they are there all the time and are replenished as they are used. Shank's pony if I need to find a special shop for special stuff

On the little cruiser I have a pretty comprehensive tool kit ...... spanners, socket set. etc. var. hand tools, saws, hammers, battery drill, testmeter, spares etc. On Sabina H ....... everything ........ hoists, tirfor, welder, angle grinders, all power tools, both metalworking and woodworking (although I have , waiting to be disposed of, a small pillar drill and a small compressor) there is also a portable (ha ha) planer thicknesser which is going on permanent loan to a carpenter friend of mine. None of them have been used for several years and If I need them, I know people who own equivalents and would be willing to assist. Apart from that ..... like Kris ..... the kitchen sink
