wow our goods in 'demand'..i hope the resurrection of the 'Silk Road' not only improves trade links but gives us an easier Brexit. We can only keep out fingers crossed that other issues with China do not sour the pot of commerce..

We already trade with China you muppets. Brexit will just make this harder, especially if we are sending stuff there by train across mainland Europe

The containers might be going to China but neither the engine nor the container cradles will be as Russia uses the five foot gauge.

On the other hand, we, as an Island Nation could re-start our steel industry and start building ships again to deliver and collect trade around the world and start crewing those ships with a decent merchant navy and and and and.......

We could do so much more for ourselves, as an apprentice engineer I was told the world would be my oyster, bit as the years passed I saw all those factories' closed and turned into warehouses, I myself was forced into another career path. It annoys me greatly because on a personal level I was doing some great stuff, for instance, I wasn't making silicon chips, I was doing the clever stuff making the machines to make the chips, I guess the world moves on but I look forward to seeing it change a bit in our favour. We could all put the world to rights with hindsight and experience..when I was a nurse and the 'changes' began to affect patient care I started writing letters to who ever and guess what?..yep nothing changed..'progress is relentless and doesn't care who it bulldozers out of the way'
