I'm puzzled by this because I've often had my postal vote sent to a different address from my home one. Surely that's a large part of the point of a postal vote? Or is it that you don't have a "proper" address in your vicinity and they won't do a Post Restante address? Yeah you can do this cos my son wanted me to..it says on the form which address to be sent to..and I think...I could be wrong they ask a reason...I was childminding at referendum time and son very keen I cast my vote....however he went out of the country and failed to set his up...case of do as I say not as I do!..he then drowned his sorrows at the result.....his one missed vote would not have made an iota of difference but guess it reflects fact that if u really feel strongly about an issue get your act together.

I've only submitted the application a week ago. The instructions indicated the ballot paper must be sent to my home address. Maybe once I am an established postal voter this changes. But my reading on the matter so far suggests not. Rog I did wonder if there was a diference between the rules for Scotland and England, but a random check of Birmingham city council gave this, which clearly says that a postal vote can be sent to another address if a reason is given - so for example a good reason would be "on holiday". www.birmingham.gov.uk/info/20097/elections_and_voting/699/voting_by_post

No option on the application form I completed to send any paperwork to anywhere but my home address. But as I said, this may just be the process of registering for a postal vote. Maybe the options of where to send the ballot paper will come once I am registered. I'll let you all know Rog

We're just registered for postal voting - mainly because on election day, we'll be somewhere on route from Wakefield to Skipton on the boat...
The letter came yesterday, saying the voting pack will arrive on 1st June to our home address - THAT was the point of trying to do it before hand as we'll already have left... doh!!!
Having never missed a vote since eligible, I am NOT going to all the faff of coming back to collect the pack so THIS time my party may feel my absence lol.

I'd make a bit more of an effort to vote if we ever get proportional representation, until then it would just be a waste of my time.

I'd make a bit more of an effort to vote if we ever get proportional representation, until then it would just be a waste of my time. It'll never happen because you'd have to vote liberal first, then having got a taste of POWER they'd do one of their famous 180 deg turns or have a referendum several times to check over, say, 50 years.

Berkhamsted PO will accept my mail, and I've chased up Jane's ballot paper. They accept they've buggered up her application, and will rush her ballot out to our home address. We should have both ballot papers by late next week, ready to post back I never realised that a postal vote will be accepted as long as it is received before 10pm on the day of the election, 8 June in this case. Leaves us loads of time. Rog

All three, (me, Im Indoors and daughter) back in the post. Daughter can't believe she turned 18 in February and has had the chance to vote twice in three months!
