Traffic light sets were originally Petter AA1's derated to 1500 rpm, 1500 w ,110 volt. The set in question is a military paint colour, wiring connectors, and data plate. ( Belt driven alternator ) I was hoping you would comment as I know you have a lot of knowledge on this sort of thing. Do you know what specs the unit is likely to have? Ebay seller has not responded to my question which I sent yesterday.

Whatever it is, its most likely farked.
Looks like they have just dragged it out of the scrap bin.
The £500 price is ridiculous, £25 would be more realistic.

the thing is with old engines like that ..... if you have one that has a bit on it that you need ....... well you buy the whole damn thing if you have to Talking of which ..... if you ever come across a Thorneycroft's "Handy Billy" in a skip ....... grab it ....... I'll make it worth your while !!!

About £475 worth of farked.
My contacts tell me its a 3.5 kva Coventry Climax military generator unit, minus its trailer. Circa 1950's. ( Petrol )
