Right, having now had to sling 3 Un-Sureflo pumps away in 5 years I've switched to Jabsco. Adaptors provided in box, even the mounting was the same. Hopefully this will last a bit longer...

Your right, they are abortionate pumps. Shurflo will tell you they are not designed for domestic use.

Your right, they are abortionate pumps. Shurflo will tell you they are not designed for domestic use. If that's so how can they be any good for commercial use? Anyway, glad to see the back of them. I did consider a Whale Gulper. I've got their shower evacuation pump version and it's very good.

Jabsco Par Max were not without faults. However the later models seem to have cured the worst flaw which was using an ordinary microswitch in the pressure switch. They seem to be about the best that I've found ...... my last one lasted 5 years of liveaboard use before the diaphragm in the pressure switch wore out. The pump itself was fine and with an overhaul kit is still doing good service

I go through a shurflo pump in about a year or so on the barge. 4 residents. £50 replacement so £1 a week I don't find it too terrible and its easy to swap.

There's a few cheap and easy fixes but some prefer spending £50 now and then.
Bit like batteries really.

We have a Jabsco 4405. Over 10years we are on our 4th, in each case the diaphragm splitting. I've a not in the diary to replace it in September. I then have a repair kit to replace the diaphragm. Couldn't do it on the last one as the water penetrated the motor and rusted the magnets.

Its was all the water pis*ing out of the things and causing damage that upset me more about these pumps. Ive now got a Whale which has been working trouble free and leak free for over 2 years now
