Now one of my all time favourites (not a joke). I think Tess Merkel (the little one with the big hair) is an absolute babe, I found it interesting in the video production the way her face was used less perhaps because she is not as "good looking" as the other woman but she does come across as a seriously sexy woman in that particular video.

I've always found it slightly strange that you can meet two women, and while one quite obviously conforms more to classical standards of female beauty than the other, somehow it's the other one who "does it" for you.

Sorry for repeating ... but joyous christmas music it is Rog On the classical front, I love Prokofiev and Rachmaninoff, in particular his 24 piano preludes. I did one of them for my piano grades but the first prelude is one of my favorite ever pieces of music (first piece on the link). I tried playing it but Rachmaninoff had very big hands!!

much as I enjoyed the two previous tracks ..... I'm returning to a folk type track by a talented group ..... and this folk tune is much more up to date than it sounds like at first. ...... I was at sea the time

Nice harmonies in that John and it has a thing called words in it. My eldest bruv ran a folk club many years ago and I got involved in the folk scene. I used to play electric fretless bass with him. I think some may have disapproved of the small battery powered amp but you could always hide it under something...

My wife taught me to listen to the lyrics of songs, she was a vocalist and a great natural harmony singer (not just my opinion but that of many other professionals).
I haven't forgotten and it has taken me down many odd routes in my listening

Folk music is very much about passing down stories from history, so yes, the words are very important. For some reason, I never really connected well with words. I was told I was quite late at speaking when I grew up and I remember my early frustrations with trying to understand and speak words. I seemed to pick up much more from music than words. I often wonder whether the ear trouble I had growing up was something to do with it. I even failed 0'level English at school!. The other thing is that I tend to listen more to the individual instruments which distracts me from the words. Good job we're all different I suppose otherwise we probably wouldn't have any bass players. Being on the canal forums has probably helped me with words more than anything else over the last 10 years. I still used to get frustrated with Nigels legal speak bless him. I have often wondered what he would have thought about this last year. No, music is a fantastic gift which keeps on giving.
