I'd say have a go, and ask us for advice as you go along, if unsure. Life is short, have some fun!

To be honest, I can't imagine that anybody making a programme about boat restoration is going to be looking for someone to make a fool of, because that simply wouldn't work with the audience for such a programme, who are likely to be of similar disposition and possibly even have the same Harold Shipman beard etc.

If it was another series with Tom Cunliffe i'd say go for it without question. www.tomcunliffe.com/boatyard/Tom seems the sort of guy you could spend an interesting afternoon in the pub with. Otherwise, keep yer Spidey senses on if you agree to it. Rog has a point, TV now seems to be the lowest common denominator approach, easier to make TV for Muppets to enjoy than a decent well researched programme that those with a bit of grey matter can enjoy. Fair play if you go ahead, I'm too shy and retiring to agree to go on the telly! Is there a way i can watch on TV still Gazza, soun hids good. Sadly not on TV, but if you can put up with the quality on YouTube there's a few episodes available 🚢⚓👍🍻

You will merely be part of the subject matter, and powerless. How about getting them to sign a small contract saying that you have the right to view the content to be televised before going on air, and that you have the right to pull out anything you think is unsuitable, or that you simply don't want. Absolutely this. I note that Betty is part of All 3 Media which is now a HUGE group of production companies making everything from How To Look Good Naked through to the story of The Victoria Cross and everything in between. Simply tell them that you don't want to look a twat in the finished programme so you'll be happy to take part on the proviso that you have the final say on the content that includes you. They will probably decline to use you on that basis but it's the only way I'd want to be filmed. It also gives you the opportunity to correct the glaring technical errors that will inevitably find their way into the script.

Much better quality than the youtube ones, but might take a week or two, as pretty busy at the mo.

I hate tv. I've been approached by radio, newspaper and tv journalists but always declined to get involved except for when John Sargent (a twat ) rode on my barge up Limehouse Lock. Seemed rude to refuse. I expect I was edited out anyway. You were. Phil ☺
