Here is a link to a video of the past of British Waterways, when they will still quite important and seemingly still interested in promoting transports by water. It's quite a long video, but really worth watching. Peter.

I watched that sometime ago, thanks for posting it 🚢⚓👍 I'd never seen it before, but liked it a lot, even more when I saw a Dutch Coaster in Gloucester Docks, as I remember some tales of an uncle and a cousin that both went quite regulary to different UK sea ports, with their Coasters, and often to Gloucester too. Another thing I liked was when they were talking about the £8 a year you had to pay to B-W at that time for a cruising licence, those were the days ! Peter.

Thanks for that Peter, I've seen it before but enjoyed watching it again. His closing statement is as valid today as then, unfortunately there's less infrastructure now.

Yes, it's too bad that they've let it gone down hill so badly, selling off quays and land along the banks for all sorts of non-water related purposes. What's gone is gone, and it's not very likely that inland waterways transport in the UK will ever be important again, even less with C&RT in charge. Peter.
