A fellow boater gave us a great tip which removed all of the scabby green, yellow and white mould growths on my cratch cover.
Mix some 'Patio Magic' diluted with water in a plastic plant sprayer. Spray the solution so that the entire cratch cover is soaked. Let the rain over time wash off the residue.
I was nearly at a point of replacing mine but after 2 doses it looks almost as good as new. Didn't even need to scrub it in, or rinse it and it can be done in position. Very easy.
Yoy can buy it for about £10 from Wickes.

Not really environmentally friendly from the manufacturer's instructions:
Children: Patio Magic is non-acidic and contains no bleach. But, as with any household cleaner, please take normal precautions and keep our products out of reach of children.
Pets: as a precaution, keep pets and wildlife off the treated surfaces until they are dry (if they accidentally walk or sit on the wet surfaces, then promptly rinse their paws or fur in clean water). Once the surfaces have first dried after treatment, they will be entirely safe for pets.
Plants: do not splash or spray directly onto plants ; if you do this by mistake, then simply flush them with plenty of water.
Fish: do not allow any run-off into fish-tanks or ponds, or contact with any aquatic life. Brintons Patio Magic is approved for use in Great Britain, Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland.
Please read all instructions and precautions on the product label carefully before use

That's how it kills off the mould when nothing else can get off! I'm not sure how environmentally friendly it is to throw away an old cratch cover and make a new one including driving to the tip and transporting the new one back to the boat. Sorry, starting to sound like a rant now.

Ours is vinyl and in dire need of a good clean, we've had it rolled up on top of the cratch board for the better part of 2 years now!!

Try it on an old record you don't like.

I'm going to give our PVC cratch and back covers a good gentle scrubbing with 'cream cleaner' (CIF nowadays?) and when dry rub in Nikwax to see if that will give them a new life.
